Sure Infrared devices are LEDs that send and receive data by light transmission but in a non-visible spectrum of light. Now they have developed a new transmission type that sends data at a rate of 2Mbps, rather slow for todays standards, but whats cool is that it can double as a regular lighting device as the blinking rate is so quick that the human eye can not detect the flickering of it.
